April Velasco, born in Manila, Philippines, is one of the locally renowned Filipino singer in Los Angeles, CA. She also has a passion for script writing where she wrote skits and performed in musical theatre during her high school and college years.
April performed locally a great deal in her late teens in local clubs, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and all types of corporate events and had started to develop a strong, soulful R&B and rock vocal style influenced by her musical idols Tina Turner, Sade, Diane Schuur and Taylor Dane.
April was a 1987 grand finalist in Tawag ng Tanghalan, the biggest Filipino Singing Competition back in the 80s in Los Angeles, CA. Awarded Certificate of Recognition Best Rock artist by the city of Sierra Madre. Max Promos Spotlight Awards 2020 - 2023 Best Rock & Soul Artist. Awarded by the Filipino Chamber of Commerce Southbay Los Angeles, CA at the SOFI stadium Premier Center for her contribution in the Filipino Entertainment Community.
